Sorry for the lack of updates lately but as you will see below....we have been suffering on the beach for the past couple of weeks. Trav and I finally took our first ever vacation and it was amazing. We spent 10 days in a house on the beach in Costa Rica. We really missed our kids but it was an awesome experience. We went with my sister and her husband, Matt and Heather and a couple of friends of ours from in Driggs, Cole and Lyndsay. We did everything from bushwacking in the rain forest to scuba diving with reef sharks....yikes!!!
We spend out first night in the city of San Jose in Costa Rica where we rented a car to drive 4 hours through the jungle to our house. San Jose has a population of nearly 3 million and is the dirtiest city we have ever seen. Prostitution is legal there so that was also interesting. Trav and Cole are tying down our luggage to the top of our SUV. This small pyramid on the roof of our car generously provided us so many crazy looks and laughs from the locals.

We met a local girl named Wendy who kindly served as our local tour guide. She was so funny. We went bushwacking through the jungle to a local waterfall. She brought her machede because Costa Rica is home to many poisonous snakes and spiders that you need to move out of the way as you progress through the jungle. She didn't seem to be to worried about it but the Americans were scared to death.

Getting ready for the zipline tours in the canopy of the rain forest. It was so hot hiking through the jungle. We saw two and three toed sloths, Tucans, termites, and lots of bugs.

We went scuba diving at an island called Cano Island which was an hours boat ride out in the middle of the ocean. We did two 40 minute dives at 50 feet where we saw 8' long White Tip sharks, Manta Rays, Eagle Rays, Moray Eels, Sea Turtles, and lots of other cool fish. It was really cool and really scary.

OH MAN - HOW FUNNN!!!! Those are some awesome pictures. I am so glad you guys had a good time. I am sure you missed the kids, but what a great time to be with your husband and some great friends! I hope you brought home lots of souveniers.

Oh I'm so jealous. I am so ready for a tropical vacation! It looks like you had a lot of fun. The zip line looks like a blast. My fav picture is the waterfalls. I espeically like the sun bouncing off Trav's white chest!
How nice to have some pics of just the two of you. Don't get me wrong, I love your kids, but it is nice to see you guys having such a good time. I am so glad you went scuba diving. It would be a shame to be in a place that beautiful and not take advantage of the sea life. I'm glad they didn't take advantage of you (if you know what I mean, LUNCH,;) )! Glad you guys had a safe and awesome trip.
Okay, I am way jealous! It looks like you all had an amazing time. And 10 whole days without the kids...WOW! By the way, you guys look great!
How awsome! It looks like a blast. A real vacation with no kids... hhhmmmm. what would that be like?
I saw lots of beaches in Costa Rica, but not Dominical, looks beautiful.
When we were in San Jose, at the end of the day we would take off our sandals and it looked like we had dark tan lines, ALL DIRT! Gross, I know what you mean.
I am a little jelous myself! Who wouldn't want a 10 day vacation? And that fact that it was in Costa Rica makes it even better.
Wow wouldn't it be nice to take off to Costa Rica and let all my worries melt away like a pound of butter on top of a heated ceramic plate cooking foozookies on the fourth of July.
Well maybe it will be my times someday. But then again proabably not.
Those pics are amazing!! I am so glad you had a good time. The place you stayed in looked like it was awesome. The sunset was beautiful. Now when we all go there someday you can be our tour guides:)

I'm just a picture freak...I take too many! I try to justify it by saying there's no such thing as too many pictures though...I'm convinced I am right :) So...how was Easter? Back to reality after the trip...a nice escape though, right?!?! I can't remember if I've already asked you, but do you still keep in contact with Linsey and Troy Rolle? I haven't seen or heard from her in probably 3 years...time flies! Anyways, keep the pictures a comin'...your kids are way too cute!
